At Medreana (medreana.com), we care about your privacy. This document explains what information we collect, why we collect it and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who We Are
Medreana is a one-woman atelier based in Transylvania, Romania, specialising in antique Transylvanian grain sack cushion covers and heritage textiles. This website (medreana.com) is a showcase and storytelling hub. All commercial transactions are processed exclusively through our Etsy shop: medreana.etsy.com.
For GDPR purposes, Medreana is the data controller for information collected through medreana.com.
2. What Data We Collect and Why
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate this website.
Server log files – When you visit medreana.com, our hosting provider automatically records standard log data: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and timestamps. This data is collected on the basis of our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in understanding how the site is used and maintaining its security. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
Analytics (Google Analytics) – We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor behaviour (which pages are popular, how visitors arrive). This data is anonymised and collected on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the website. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies – We use a small number of cookies for analytics purposes (see above). We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting or tracking across other websites. You may disable cookies through your browser settings; this will not affect your ability to browse medreana.com.
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information or physical addresses through medreana.com. If you contact us directly by email, we will use your email address solely to respond to your enquiry.
3. Etsy : Third-Party Transactions
All purchases are made through our Etsy shop. When you click a “Shop on Etsy” link, you leave medreana.com and enter Etsy’s platform. Etsy collects and processes your personal and payment data under their own Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review Etsy’s Privacy Policy before making a purchase.
We do not collect payment details, delivery addresses or personal information through medreana.com. When an order is placed on Etsy, Etsy shares the necessary shipping information (name and delivery address) with us solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order. This data is not stored beyond what is needed to dispatch and track your parcel.
4. How Long We Keep Data
Server log files are retained for a maximum of 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted by our hosting provider. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. We do not retain any other personal data from visitors to medreana.com.
5. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding any personal data we hold:
- Right of access – You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification – You may ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure – You may ask us to delete your personal data, where we have no legitimate reason to continue holding it.
- Right to object – You may object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time.
- Right to restrict processing – You may ask us to restrict how we use your data while a request is being resolved.
- Right to lodge a complaint – If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Romania, this is the Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP). If you are based in the UK, you may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

6. Shipping Availability
We currently ship to Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Asia. Delivery to the United States is not currently available. Please check our Etsy shop for the most up-to-date list of shipping destinations.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to check back periodically.
