Medreana rescues antique grain sacks from barns and chests across Transylvania — transforming century-old hemp into cushion covers for the modern home. Each piece was hand-woven circa 1900. Each carries the stripe signature of the family that made it. None will ever be reproduced. None will ever be restocked.

Every textile is fiber-verified by burn test — 100% hemp, no synthetics, no shortcuts.
The weight of the real thing
A hand-spun hemp in 4-shaft twill grain sack weighs between 500g and 1kg. A cushion cover sewn from it is naturally lighter, but still noticeably denser and heavier than any reproduction of the same size.
Documented provenance
Region, period, fiber and weave — recorded for every piece. Circa 1900, Transylvania.

Medreana carries the name of the founder’s great-grandmother — a name documented across the Criș Valley in 19th-century archives. This is where our story begins.
