For more than a decade, Medreana’s antique Transylvanian grain sack cushions have found their way into magazines, design blogs and homes around the world. Here are a few of the moments we are most grateful for — and the people who told our story before we could tell it ourselves.
Country Sampler Farmhouse Style
Print Magazine · Autumn 2018 Issue

Medreana was featured twice in the Autumn 2018 issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style, a U.S. national print magazine devoted to farmhouse and country home decor.
In the “Fabulous Feed Sacks” feature, our hemp grain sack bread storage basket appeared with the note that it was “sewn from authentic handwoven hemp grain-sack fabric with a blue-striped linen lining.”
On the magazine’s “Sack Sources” page — a curated list of recommended places to find genuine grain sack textiles — Medreana was listed alongside established names in the field. A Medreana grain sack cushion cover with a French-style stencil was also pictured, with the magazine noting it “gives it a European flair.”
Liz Marie Blog
“The Best Grain Sack Pillows”
Liz Marie Galvan — interior designer, shop owner and author of the books “Cozy White Cottage” and “Cozy White Cottage Seasons” — dedicated a full blog post to Medreana after discovering our shop while searching for grain sack pillows.
She described searching for years before finding our work, and called Medreana her source of choice for authentic grain sack pillows, writing that ours were unlike any others she had found.
Bloomstead Living
Featured repeatedly, 2018–2020
Amanda of Bloomstead Living — who documents the restoration of her 1800s Folk Victorian farmhouse — has featured Medreana cushions in her home across several articles over the years.
In her 2018 sunroom feature she called them “the BEST pillows,” and in her 2020 “Favorite Fall Throw Pillows” round-up she described Medreana as her “all time favorite neutral grain sack pillows,” adding that they “look and feel like authentic grain sacks.”
Little Farmstead
“Grain Sack Pillows · Farmhouse Christmas Inspiration”
The home decor blog Little Farmstead featured Medreana in a 2015 post about styling grain sack pillows for the holidays, sharing the history of European grain sacks learned directly from us and recommending our Etsy shop to readers.
A Bowl Full of Lemons
“Farmhouse Bedroom” (2016)
Toni of A Bowl Full of Lemons — a well-known home organization and decor blogger and author of “The Complete Book of Home Organization” — included a Medreana grain sack pillow in her master bedroom makeover and listed our shop among her product sources.
In Real Homes
A growing collection of real homes styled with Medreana cushions, gathered on Pinterest.
Every feature, every shared photo, every kind word is a thread in the same cloth — proof that a century-old Transylvanian grain sack still has a place in the modern home.
Each Medreana piece is hand-sourced in Transylvania and restored by hand. One of a kind. Never reproduced. Never restocked.
